A: Since magnetic surveys which rely on compass readings are unreliable in the cased hole, or in the open hole where nearby wells are cased, an alternative method of assessing the direction of the well must be used. The inclination of the well can be assessed in the same way as in the magnetic tools. The Magnetic effects can be completely eliminated by using a gyroscopic compass.
2. What areas do you cover?
A: We can cover any areas that an operator needs a gyro survey done.
3. Are you 24/7 on call?
A: Yes
4. What if I don't have an MSA in place with Vector Gyro?
A: This is no problem! We can sign a T&C (Terms and Conditions) on site or before the call out date. This ensures both the operator and Vector/Gyro that all safety's and insurances are in place to operate legally and safely for that one job.
5. Difference between a MWD Survey and Gyro Survey?
A: Both MWD and Gyro inclinometers can be used in geological drilling and oil drilling, especially in controlled oriented inclined wells and large horizontal drilling wells. Gyro inclinometer use gyroscope as azimuth measurement sensors, but MWD use magnetometer, for inclination measurement, use quartz accelerometer
